The following is a link for the petition to include supplements along with CAM (complimentary alternative medicine) to be allowed expenses from tax exempt personal health accounts, either a Flexible Savings Arrangement (FSA) or a Health Savings Account (HSA). It also calls for allowing adults over 30 who have a HSA to be able to continue to buy high deductable, catastrophic insurance, when the Health Reform Act goes into effect. It would be of benefit to those of us who do not regularly go to doctors, choosing preventative supplements and CAM instead of Western medicine.

Letter writing campaigns prevented Congress from taking away our right to buy supplements in 1994. The Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) was enacted. Now, 17 yrs later, the FDA and Sen. Dick Durbin want to enact guidelines under DSHEA that would again threaten our right to buy supplements. Let them know that this is not acceptable. We can do it again.
